Seamless 12-bay capacity expansion
Add up to 96 storage bays to compatible NAS units with the RX1223RP Expansion Unit. Enlarge or create new volumes without system or service downtime thanks to online storage expansion.

The high-speed expansion cable provided enables high bandwidth connectivity for maximum data throughput between your Synology NAS and Expansion Unit. Drives in RX1223RP operate with minimum data latency, as if installed directly on your NAS.
Expand storage on the fly
The RX1223RP provides simple storage expansion with twelve (12) drive bays for 3.5″/2.5″ SATA HDD/SDD drives. Up to eight (8) RX1223RP expansion units can be added to compatible servers for up to 1.7 petabytes of additional raw storage.
Redundant design for high reliability
Modular drive trays and system fans enable easy and quick replacement, reducing the impact of maintenance on service availability. Redundant power supply units keep your data online in the event one power source fails.
